Adrian Eagle Made A Playlist Of All His Warm-Up Songs

Ever wanted to know how Adrian Eagle warms up those considerable pipes? To mark the release of an a capella version of his single ‘A.O.K’, the Adelaide-born artist has put together a playlist of tracks that get him hyped for each show.

“I love to feel completely warm before a set,” he explains. “I do 30 minutes vocal warm-up before every show. They are the same warm-ups that Michael Jackson did before each studio and performance. I also stretch it out completely before every show. Basic yoga poses to stretch out my legs, my hips.”

‘Lord Knows’

My fav 2Pac song to get hype to. Got to play the greats before a set and get my juices flowing for inspiration.

‘Made You Look’

One of my childhood favourites. I knew this song word for word at about age 13. This still is a banger for me whenever it comes on the playlist.

‘Power To The People’

Curtis Mayfield

This my pre-show hype song at the moment. I might play it on loop to get me super hype. Curtis is the man for this. [This song] inspires me to sing for people to better the community as a whole and give back through song.

‘Rich & Sad’

Post Malone

My brother Kinani loves this song. He put me onto it and it’s definitely hype. Posty.

Classic song I grew up on. “Damn right I like the life I live coz I went from negative to positive and it’s all good.”

‘God Is Love’

Marvin Gaye

I love Marvin and this song just puts me in a great mood. I love the praising and fight in this song.

Sam Cooke

Uncle Sam Cooke. Another legend I love playing. One of my favourite voices and songwriters ever

Up and comer that I’ve been listening to from the UK. This song bops!

‘There He Go’

Schoolboy Q

I remember first hearing this a few years ago. Instant hype song and Schoolboy kills it with his flow on this track.

‘Hussle & Motivate’

Nipsey Hussle

RIP Nipsey. This one bangs off his debut album – with the Jay Z sample, the motivation. It’s a banger and definitely gets me hype for the shows.
